A premier program is more than a good team. It is a connected community of athletes, coaches, and families pursuing excellence together. Premier means we are striving to become the leading girls basketball program in our area. We want to compete for championships. We want to stand out. We want to build something so strong that players actively want to be part of it. But being premier is not only about winning games. It is about building an environment where players feel they belong, where they are supported as people, and where excellence becomes the standard.
To overachieve means to go beyond what is expected. We believe that athletes should strive to give their best effort in every part of life. Basketball is simply one arena where that mindset is practiced. An overachiever is someone who chooses to pursue high standards even when it would be easier not to. Overachievement shows up in many places:
The goal is to develop individuals who consistently try to improve themselves without being asked. Effort is always something we can control. When players learn to take pride in their effort, they build the habits necessary to succeed when it matters most. Over time, this mindset leads to players who are willing to pay the price for excellence.
Our program is guided by four core values:
Respect
Accountability
Gratitude
Effort
These values are the foundation of our culture. There will inevitably be difficult moments in a season. There will be days when discipline is hard, when frustration appears, or when the journey feels long. Our values act as a compass that guides us back to the path we have chosen. Respect reminds us how to treat teammates, coaches, opponents, and ourselves. Accountability reminds us to take ownership of our actions. Gratitude reminds us that playing the game is a privilege. Effort reminds us that intensity and commitment are always within our control. When players consistently live these values, they contribute to what we call Lancer Pride. A culture built on discipline, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Winning can mean many things. In basketball, winning might look like:
In life, winning might mean:
Our goal is to empower players to win in both basketball and life. Empowerment means giving players the tools, confidence, and support they need to succeed. We do this by:
Ultimately, empowerment leads to belief. When players believe in themselves, they become willing to pursue difficult goals and embrace challenges.
And sometimes, the most important question is not whether you won the game, but whether you can walk away proud of how you competed and how you carried yourself.
